To Mr. Obama re: Fundamental Change

by Ron Burres on 04/03/10

CHANGE????

FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE:
Mr. Obama stated that in college he had sought out the most radical Marxist, Socialist professors and students to surround himself with.  In the last days of his bid to gain the presidency, he said he was going to  fundamentally change America.   He has been true to his word and true to his educational roots.
We all tend to translate the world through our own belief systems regardless of validity.  I have no doubt Mr. Obama is sincere in his beliefs. He believes it is his destiny to correct the America he never really agreed with.  In the past year, Mr. Obama has shown himself to be apologetic to the rest of the world, cool towards our friend Israel and is striving to hold out a friendly hand to those countries that do not have our best interests at heart.
Mr. Obama, and the progressive elitists, keep inferring that the objections to his presidency, and to the direction the current Congress and Senate are forcing on an unwilling populace, are due to Mr. Obama's skin color and we who oppose are a bunch of redneck, bible hugging, prejudiced, screaming illiterates.  It would do the president and his party well to realize that the American public is proud to be Americans, and we are proud of our history.
We are a people who have contributed more to the world in terms of advancement, dollars, generosity and freedom than any other civilization since the beginning of time.  Proud is not a bad thing, Mr. President, arrogance is.  The America I grew up in did not fight its wars to gain control of territory or to amass wealth from our enemies. That was put behind us even before the on set of WWI.
In the aftermath of world disasters, the American public has given more in aid, physically and economically, than most governments.  So what are we apologizing for and to whom?
Do we really want our country to move toward ideologies and a government that takes from the individual then doles out its harvest to fund those things that will increase the publics reliance upon the government?  Do we want our dollars used to rewrite our national history and to indoctrinate future generations of Americans into believing one cannot survive without government entitlement, and that “One World Government” is the new God?   Mr. President I object to what you are doing, not to who you are.

A response 2 re: Healthcare bill

Mr.Creamer huffer april 5

"If there is anything that the Republicans hate, it's losing, and when it came to the healthcare bill...Republicans lost big." robert creamer posted to the Huffington Post.
One thing that Mr. Creamer fails to admit, is the fact that Democrats, during their power struggle to get this albatross passed, had to resort to more backroom, behind the back bribery and threats than any other bill in recent history.  It's sad to think of that as a victory for anyone, let alone considering it a loss to those who opposed it.  To believe that this thing is a victory for the American people is fallacious and mistaken.
To serve the purpose of repairing our health care system by using an over the top helping of pork and strong arm tactics should not be required, nor should over 2,000 pages of purposefully confusing legislation.

NUKE CUTBACK 4-6-10

Hold up for just a minute please.  Why would we agree to something that puts our country at great risk.  Granted the Cold War is over but right now Russia is not our only concern.  We should base our arsenal on the total of potential enemy attacks not just on one country.  Has the President forgotten about China, North Korea, and the up and comming non friendly countries such as Iran, and her friends.

WALK SOFTLY by Ron Burres on 04/09/10

WALK SOFTLY

President Obama has apparently stepped away from a few of the policies former presidents and our American heritage have held close in terms of foreign policy.
This week has seen fundamental changes to our way of life and the protection of our nation.  One of the basic things that has preserved our way of life, our government and our country, has been President Roosevelt's doctrine of "Walk softly but  carry a big stick."
Mr. Obama has apparently forgotten the importance of the last portion of that statement, as indicated by the depletion of our arsenal and our ability to act as a deterent to aggresive acts in the world theater.  The fact that other nations were not sure if we would really use the totality of our previous strength, has kept super powers and rogue nations in check for the last 60 years.
In his actions this week, Mr. Obama has surrendered our position and standing as the number one power in our world.  His actions have created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in a world that huddled under the wings of our eagle.  Fearful nations are unpredictable....a dangerous situation in today's world. The president's action will contribute to instability and is a giant error in tactical foreign policy.
We would all like to see a world in which we all held hands and danced around the maypole. Now is not the time to offer our other cheek to a world that is in turmoil and involved in a war. Fanatical terrorists and countries who are actively seeking ways to harm other nations, are not going to be inhibited in their activities by our increasing show of weakness.  The fact is that criminality fears strength and the sooner we get back to the policies that show strength the better.  Mr. President, we need a stick not a twig!

ENOUGH! WE NEED SOLUTIONS.

by Ron Burres on 04/15/10

ENOUGH! WE NEED SOLUTIONS.

This has been an interesting week.  We have watched and listened to our President do his strut, as savior of the world, and his humble apologetic act in an attempt to show the world theater how he is trying to save our planet.
The fact that America is a dominant world power is not something to apologize for, nor is it a position to relinquish lightly.  Our country, and its strengths, both morally and militarily, have kept our world from harms that only God can know.  The same has stopped many others from gobbling up or murdering their neighbors.  An example of this is the fact that Iraq is no longer gassing their neighbors and are now growing into an adult nation.  (The reason for the change is our president's ability to make a decision to stop a tyrannical government from existing.  This was not a bad or an evil act on the part of the United States.)
It's not enough that we criticize our current state of affairs, nor is it enough to recognize that we have problems.  Our ship could be in danger of sinking.  If we don't all do our part to bail the water by finding solutions instead of petty idealogic name calling, we could all go down with the ship.
There are no shortages of fronts that our country is in need of strong leadership on.  We are a country that has become great because of leadership, of ideas, success of individual attitudes and strivings. The world today is a better place because of our competetive, inovative nature and entrepreneureship. The freedom we have enjoyed in determining our own good fortune has been a blessing, not only to those who have risen to the top, but also to those who have reaped the benefit of their creativity.
The body and mind of a country is much the same as that of any other organism. It is only as healthy and as strong as the individual parts.  Cancer can infect the political body but through true education, facts and a hunger for truth, we can remove political cancer from our country by the vote.
Voting is only as good as we make it. If we base our vote on false or indoctrinated ideology, we add to the sickness.  I strongly urge us as a people to educate ourselves and to find the truth before we vote; and then to find those who adhere to logic and truth and vote for them.

The American Soldier (poem)

The American Soldier...dedicated to our allies. by: Ron Burres  Dec,2005
I am the heart and soul of a single fighting man. Who died on foriegn soil, with freedom as my goal
Protecting what I thought was right, with freedom,  yes freedom as my goal.
I proudly carried our stars and stripes through battles in the heat and in the cold.
Along side all my friends who fought so brave and bold. With freedom, yes freedom as our goal.
The Spirit of thousands, American men and women Who died to soon, long before their time. Some so young and yet so old, filled with hope and dreams With freedom, yes freedom as their goal.
Fighting beside each other regardless of their creed.  Their families and children on knees at home praying for their needs. Freedom yes freedom was their goal.
Fighting for other countries, to keep their people safe. To protect their way of life their choice.  Freedom, yes freedom was their goal.
We've asked our allies our friends of old to help as once again another people cries to be free.          Where are they, don't they see Freedoms  need.   Where are they when we bleed?

Iraq war because the world blinked

by Ron Burres on 04/22/10

IT HARD TO BLUFF YOU WAY OUT OF A WAR (BUT WE COULD HAVE)

As we, our country, still stunned by 9-11, contemplated the situation involving Iraq evolving into a threat.  We were seeing them as a country led by a dictator strong enough to get away with gassing his neighbors to the North, killing thousands just to get them to march in line to his programs, and to conform to his country.  This was a short time after being Iraq had been defeated and forced back into their own area after Kuwait.
We were busy trying to get the U.N. to get sanctions against their movement toward nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction.  (We later found out that the agreemnt we were seeking could not find willing hands to support our sanctions.)  Had we applied that preassure the Iraq situation, Hussein would have blinked and the regime change would have been done.  The failure of our allies, caused by trade and other outrite bribes, to support President Bush in his hope for peacefull solution caused the plan to fail and military solution became iminent.
I remember thinking at the time, how much like a good poker game all this was playing out.  Everyone knew it would be easy to take Saddam out but no one wanted to lose their end of the graft.  So it was left up to the Power with the concience.  Had everyone held firm Hussein would have given in to the power and strength of number.  Blinking started a war.  If handled George Bushes way there most likely would not have been a war.
The worlds failure to stand with us un this issue produce the following work:
