GOP Foreign Policy: Neoconservatives Looking For A Comeback In 2012

According to the Urban Institute-Brookings Institution Tax Policy Center, total federal tax receipts hit $2.57 trillion in 2007, before declining in 2008 and 2009, when the current recession was under way. (Tax revenues almost always sink during a recession.) The 2007 level was the highest recorded since 1934, when statistics were first collected.According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy added more jobs than it lost during 50 out of 52 months between September 2003 and December 2007. The economy lost jobs over two months during that stretch -- between June 2007 and July 2007 (20,000 jobs) and between July 2007 and August 2007 (71,000). We might add that over the course of Bush's presidency -- a total of 96 months -- the economy created 1.08 million jobs.

GOP Foreign Policy: Neoconservatives Looking For A Comeback In 2012

The day the democrats took over was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House and the Senate, at start of the 110th Congress.

At the time:

DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

Unemployment rate was 4.6%

Bush's Economic policies

Set a record of 52 straight months of job creation!

See politifact check below:

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy added more jobs than it lost during 50 out of 52 months between September 2003 and December 2007. The economy lost jobs over two months during that stretch -- between June 2007 and July 2007 (20,000 jobs) and between July 2007 and August 2007 (71,000). We might add that over the course of Bush's presidency -- a total of 96 months -- the economy created 1.08 million jobs. That may sound like a lot, but compared to every other post-World War II president prior to Obama, it's the lowest average annual percentage increase in jobs created. (See our calculations here.)

That said, Obama's figures are worse than any of his postwar predecessors'. The economy has shed between 2.4 million and 3.1 million jobs during the 18 months he's been in office, . In 2007, tax revenues represented 18.5 percent of GDP. That's high by historical standards but hardly a record. It only ties for 16th place going back to 1934, and within the 14-year stretch between 1996 and 2009 it only rises to 7th place.

GOP Foreign Policy: Neoconservatives Looking For A Comeback In 2012

Our society as a whole has allowed the two party system to flourish in a sea of feeding self-interest. This has nothing to do with conservatism it has to do with the process of vote buying in the form of handouts to all the various factions. A good example is the current method of pitting the majority of economic strata against another because of numbers. I just hope that we are all smarter than that.

Clarence Thomas Assailed For Alleged Ethical Lapses By More House Dems

an awful lot of ideolougical ranting going on in your mind. If I remember correctly President Lincoln was part of our "nasty past", one of the first leaders of the Republican party. The response to O's failed presidency has nothing to do with skin color more to his inadequacy as a leader. In terms of your, "so do the historical reminders of a negative, hateful, bigoted, violence centered past that have been openly embraced by the leadership of the Republican party" WTH are u talking about?

Gingrich ties Romney for GOP in New Hampshire

Learning this a.m. that Newt is in a veritable tie in New Hampshire brings his knowledge and political abilities into play. As heartening as the news may be to those of us who miss clarity and honesty in our politicians, GOP victory in 2012 is not assured. We have to re-educate a populace who have been indoctrinated throughout their time in school, those who pay absolutely no attention to both sides of the news, and those who think its ok to scam the system. We are, as our current masquerading POTUS stated lazy, but in a different way. The conservative faction needs to recognize the size of the machine we are up against and the fact that it is a behemoth coalition of all we disagree with and they are united. Regardless of our degree of conservatism it will take all of us as a united front to counteract the Acorns, SEIU's, Communist and Socialist factions that are propping up the current administration. We must all do our part. Most of us are aware that our country is at a crossroads in time and this next election will set our direction.
During the past few weeks we have seen the result of miss-used freedom of speech. I don't mean to imply that OWS shouldn't have the right to express their view point I do mean that the media and general informational machine in our country is not doing us any real service. Our great country is being stolen right under our noses and our conservative constituency has been silently allowing it to happen. Where have we been as a dissenting bloc to the loss of our true history as a nation, the theft of our nations politic out of the hands of the people into the hands of professional politicians?

On Payroll Tax Cut, Obama Administration Plotting Year-End Showdown

Omentum,

Sorry took so long to get through mail to answer. No I don't believe the best solut ion is to kick everyone out. I lost my own home due medical incapacitation so I can relate to those in similar situations. I think that the financial institutions should re-evaluate their loan agreements on an individual basis and if any viable alternative could be reached, do it. One of the main problems in the housing situation is that the banking industry can make more money by repossession of the properties because of government subsidy to them.

Occupy Wall Street: American as Apple Pie

MIght have a point if there weren't so much anarchy connected to the movement. What we are watching here is not so much a playout of American historical right to protest as we are the age old methods of the Socialist and Communist propagators. The method of using populist discontent, as a tool to bring down governments and societies is easily traced. Matched with the democratic back patting of this group in to-to begs the observation of if quaks and waddles perhaps it is a duck. The good of our country deserves better than those who would tear it apart.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. ... Abraham Lincoln

Millennial Voters Still Support Obama, But Enthusiasm Has Waned

: Just how delusional are you. Did you not notice what change the dems tried to implement the first two years of Obamanation. It had nothing at all to do with increasing our countries wealth, jobs, and personal income. It did have to do with pushing a bill that actually harmed the economy and until that is rectified mr Oblame will continue to dodge his part in this unending fiasco. Even now he continues to blame everything else but his own ineptitude. His focus is on creating a behemoth government which employs the majority of population to insure the growth of semi-socialistic anti-capitalistic factions within our society. U.S. Adds 80,000 New Jobs In October As Jobless Rate Falls To 9.0 Percent

Fault does not lie, in total, at the feet of Freddie and Fannie. The fault does in fact lie at the feet of the well intentioned Federal Govt. that created the laws forcing lending institutions to ease lending requirements in order to lend mortgage monies to unqualified people. Had the lending instutions held fast to the tried and true methods of qualification this housing bubble would not have been there to burst. The speculation and rape of our economy did not occur because of bad people but because of bad policies that created the opportunity. If you want to speak of brainwashing you should look to those that refuse to go to root cause for honest apprisal of the situation. Fueling class warfare is no way to clear the problem and is a dis-service to our country. It will absolutely not create a climate of repair. Blaming the 1% will accomplish nothing, we should instead be fostering the ability to achieve in the 99%. The 99% grew our nation into one of the finest examples of human ingenuity and progress in the history of the World. They came from arround the world, assimulating into a solid, resounding, voice. That voice shouted to the rest of the World "We can achieve what we Dream.", and we do it as one undivided nation. We are now witnessing the harvest of divisive thinking and the cancer of a sickened educational system insepid with those who hate our captilistic democratic society .
