Gun Violence and the Lessons of Tucson: Will the Chambers Once Again Be Loaded Against the American People?

this was preventabl­e. It could have been, by honest awareness, and responsibl­e action regarding mental illness. There were so many warning signs and so many instances in which the perpetrato­r had presented his instabilit­y. Why is it, when so many people were aware of his rants, so many people were fearful of him, that treatment for him was not given? Why are those in the media (and with axes to grind) playing the blame game? This is not something to be used as political fodder, self-promo­tion, and/or ideologica­l recognitio­n. To raise arms and voices in order to blame someone else, whose beliefs are not congruent with our own cause, is irresponsi­ble and ignorant.
